An online article published on April 29 by Travel + Leisure magazine and written by Lydia Mansel named Bluffton one of the “15 Most Beautiful Places to Visit on the East Coast.”
Renowned for publishing articles by talented novelists, poets, artists, designers, and journalists outside the travel industry, Travel + Leisure is a go-to source for the discerning tourist. Its striking travel photography and covers adorned within luxurious environments make it unmistakably stand out.
Travel + Leisure rates airports, cities, cruise ships, hotels, and islands and gives out “World’s Best Awards” every August. The selection process is fair as the magazine’s team takes the readers’ votes into account when recognizing the winners. In addition, the “T+L 500” list curates the 500 world-class hotels. Not to be forgotten, is the “America’s Favorite Cities” feature that compiles reader rankings of U.S. cities in various categories.
Bluffton was noted for the following accredidations:
- Its idyllic location along the May River.
- The Montage Palmetto Bluff, named one of the best resort hotels in South Carolina in Travel + Leisure’s “World’s Best Awards.”
- The restaurants, stores, galleries and history found in Old Town Bluffton.
- The stunning natural landscape and wildlife of the Lowcountry.
Cumberland Island, Georgia, Lake George, New York, Block Island, Rhode Island and Acadia National Park, Maine among others were also named. But we’re kind of partial to Bluffton.
