Velvet Caravan is one of the most unusual ensembles in the music business. Combining Gypsy, Honky-Tonk, Swing and Latin, this band plays upbeat tunes from all over the world with thunderous virtuosity and relentless sense of humor. These talented musicians have evolved their individual strengths into an interesting and unified sound, which they playfully describe as “European Redneck Music.” Forming organically nearly three years ago, the five-piece Velvet Caravan includes musicians Ricardo Ochoa (violin), Sasha Strunjas (guitar), Jared Hall (keyboard/accordion), Eric Dunn (bass) and Jesse Monkman (percussion).
