The University of South Carolina Beaufort Center for the Arts presents its Lunch with Author Series with Bren McClain. McClain earned a BA in English from Furman University and taught high school English for one year. Throughout her life, she was drawn to writing. McClain satisfied her desire as a small town newspaper journalist, a radio and television reporter and an anchor at various stations across the Southeast. Following that, and a few years spent in corporate America, she was desperate for a creative outlet. She resigned and soon began concentrating on her writing. “When I returned to what was set in motion in a three-year-old Anderson, South Carolina, farm girl – writing and animals – my literary career changed, and my novel, One Good Mama Bone, was born.” Event starts at noon. Tickets are $42 and must be purchased in advance. Event to be held at the Hampton Hall Clubhouse, 170 Hampton Hall Blvd. For more information visit uscbcenterforthearts.com or call (843) 521-4100.
