The Palmetto Plant Eaters Club, a PlantPure Nation pod group that meets monthly (free and open to the public) to educate and support plant-based eating, will be hosting Karen J. Holland DrPH, MPH, BCC as its guest speaker on Wednesday, Dec. 7, 2016 at 6:30 p.m. at the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of the Lowcountry, located at 110 Malphrus Road in Bluffton, SC.
Dr. Karen J. Holland is a whole-person lifestyle health strategist and founder of Positively Healthy—Concierge Lifestyle Medicine. She provides consultation for whole-life change to corporations who want to reduce their insurance costs by improving employee wellness, as well as working with communities to facilitate a default healthy lifestyle. She also accepts individuals and families as clients and comes alongside to help them facilitate lifestyle change and attain optimal whole-person health.
Dr. Holland has more than 35 years experience as a medical professional and is a member of the American College of Lifestyle Medicine. She has a masters and doctoral degree in public health and is currently completing a second PhD researching leadership and health behavior. A board-certified life coach, she specializes in health and wellness, nutrition and relationships. Dr. Holland’s research was presented in Geneva, Switzerland at the 2nd International Health and Wellness Conference in July 2014. She is a published author in peer-reviewed scientific journals and an editorial reviewer for various scientific journals.
