The Hilton Head Audubon Society Christmas Bird Count is Thursday, Dec. 15, 2016 for the Hilton Head area. Enjoy exploring our beautiful habitat and sharing the wonder of finding our feathered friends with your neighbors and fellow birding enthusiasts.
Gather with the Hilton Head Audubon Society as they spread out in teams out across Hilton Head and Daufuskie Islands, parts of Bluffton and our waterways to identify species and count each bird we see in our 15-mile diameter circle. (In 2015, there were 2,505 count circles in the Western Hemisphere!)
There are captains of the 18 different areas who are putting teams together for the count. New participants are always welcome! You do not have to be an accomplished birder to get involved. If you are interested in being a part of this international effort, please e-mail Susan Murphy at HHICBC@gmail.com or call (843) 686-3733.
